SUMMARY:United Way of Southwest Alabama Annual Meeting
DESCRIPTION:The United Way of Southwest Alabama will host its Annual Meeting on Wednesday\, October 1\, 2025\, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Renaissance Mobile Battle House Hotel & Spa.  \n\n\n\nThe event will feature keynote speaker Tyrone Prothro\, former University of Alabama football standout and varsity football coach at Jasper High School. Known for his athleticism and inspirational story\, Prothro is best remembered for “The Catch\,” a remarkable reception during a 2005 game that earned the 2006 ESPY Award for Best Play. Although a career-ending injury cut his playing days short\, he has dedicated his life to mentoring student-athletes and sharing his powerful message of perseverance. \n\n\n\nThe Annual Meeting will also include a special awards presentation honoring individuals and organizations that have made outstanding contributions to the Southwest Alabama community. Attendees will hear messages from 2025 Board Chair Audra Harper of Harper Technologies and 2025 Campaign Chair Chris Esfeller of Regions Bank.  \n\n\n\nGeneral admission is $60 per person\, and tables of ten are $600. A limited number of VIP “Prothro Experience” tickets\, which include an exclusive meet-and-greet with the keynote speaker\, are also available. DESCRIPTION:A men’s only event featuring fine food\, cocktails and entertainment benefiting Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Central Gulf Coast. Come network and learn how you can help remove the almost 100 boys from our waitlist.  \n\n\n\nThe 251 Club is a professional membership of men who support the charity Big Brothers Big Sisters. Big Brothers Big Sisters is the largest mentoring organization in the United States and along the central Gulf Coast. Our mission is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Our inaugural local 250 Club was in 2019 and rebranded in 2023 to 251 Club. Our goal is for our guests to leave feeling empowered to “be the one.” This years 251 Club event will be held in downtown Mobile and will include fine food\, cocktails\, prizes\, and entertainment.
